Ken Mitchell-Phillips to travel to Chicago to help the Paralegal Profession.

On November 13th, 2009, Ken Mitchell-Phillips, Sr. will travel to Chicago, Illinois to meet with the members of the American Bar Association’s (ABA’s) Standing Committee on Paralegal Education. The committee meets three times a year to develop and promote policies relating to the education, employment, training and the effective use of paralegals. The Standing Committee also monitors trends in the paralegal field and recommends for approval and reapproval those paralegal training programs that have met the standards and guidelines set by the ABA for quality paralegal education. In an average year, the staff office processes more than 6,000 requests for information and responds to numerous requests for help.

The ABA has more than 400,000 members and is considered the largest voluntary professional membership organization in the world.  Starting in 1878, the ABA has worked to improve the administration of justice, promoted programs that assist lawyers and judges in their work, accredited law schools, provided continuing legal education, and worked to build public understanding around the world of the importance of the rule of law.
